Lyssa Gets All of the Credit

When you walk into my classroom, if you turn to the right, this is the first view you will have.  In front is the "Monthly Items" jersey.  This jersey has the calendar, a list of jobs for the students, and the word of the week.  This way my students will be able to enhance their vocabulary, accountability, and events knowledge.

For those of you that do not know how crafty Lyssa can really be, this is just an example.  This entire classroom has been designed by her.  I am the one who comes up with the idea, she is the one that makes it happen.  Without Lyssa my classroom would still look bare, and I would be walking around with ideas in my head, but I would not be able to have them come to fruition.  I am so lucky to have Lyssa in my life, for many reasons other than her crafty skills.

One of the Hardest Parts of Decorating My Room

Putting this backboard on the back wall was a pain in the butt.  First, I had to tack each of the corners up.  Then,  I had to adjust the projector to fit the paper.  Finally, this was the hardest part, I had to trace over the lines.  It is so hard to trace over lines and keep them straight when you are tracing freehand.  My kids love this little area.  This is where I am going to put up all of their hard work.

Good Thing His Room Does Not Make Him Look Gay!!!

This may be the best comment I have received about my room thus far.  One of the other 4th Grade teachers, Bethany Hancock, had her roommate look at my room and that is what her comment was.  Apparently, when male teachers decorate their rooms they make them look gay.  Here is a picture of my room at an angle.  Those innocent little water bottles are going to be the death of me.

Lyssa Update

Lyssa has been very busy with her calling of teaching in the Relief Society.  She spends hours preparing her lesson, and all of that preparation pays off.  Every 4th Sunday (the one she teaches) I get at least three to four comments about how wonderful of a teacher she is.  Lyssa is also staying very busy at work, she comes home everyday exhausted!  Apparently she is one of the few employees in her department that is willing to work on this new computer program, so as a result, she is doing all of her work plus two or three of her co-workers loads.  Everyday she gets up at 4:00 a.m., gets ready for work, we drive her to the bus stop by 5:01 a.m., she rides the bus to work and arrives around 7:00 a.m.  Later that day, she gets on the bus at 2:00 p.m., rides down to tracks, takes tracks to another bus stop, and arrives home around 4:00 p.m.  She is getting very tired of this routine, but it only has to continue until I begin working at Fox Hollow.  I am so grateful to have such a wonderful wife that is willing to sacrifice so much (spending time with Maty and me) to help our family stay above water during this summer.

Maty Update

Maty has been crawling all over the place.  Her new favorite place to crawl into is her little toy box downstairs.  She is still usually a pretty happy little girl, when she has been fed, taken her nap, and her diaper has been changed.  Her favorite past times are reading the mail (I'll put a picture of that on here), picking on the dogs, and hanging out with daddy (she is a daddy's girl, at least for now).

I Know We Are SLACKERS!!!

Well, apparently Lyssa was going to keep this blog up-to-date....um she has been way busy, so I guess I will hurry and give a quick update.  Maybe after giving her a starting point (a little more recently than March, she won't be so overwhelmed keeping up on it.  Also, for those that don't know, I also have my own blog @ bachler9.blogspot.com.  To all those who know me, remember that I have a very bad short-term memory.  With that said, I will try and put the most important information on this blog.  I'm also going to put little snip-its of what is going on in my life, but I hate typing things twice, so for more information check out my blog.

Well thanks to Andy we are now ready to Blog. Thanks Andy for all your help with setting up my blog I love it.
Life in Utah County is going great. Matyson is growing like a weed. She can now roll over and sit by herself without to much help. Being a Mom is such a cool experience. I could pass on some of the sleepless nights and sick days. But besides that life as a Mom is great.
