Lyssa Gets All of the Credit

When you walk into my classroom, if you turn to the right, this is the first view you will have.  In front is the "Monthly Items" jersey.  This jersey has the calendar, a list of jobs for the students, and the word of the week.  This way my students will be able to enhance their vocabulary, accountability, and events knowledge.

For those of you that do not know how crafty Lyssa can really be, this is just an example.  This entire classroom has been designed by her.  I am the one who comes up with the idea, she is the one that makes it happen.  Without Lyssa my classroom would still look bare, and I would be walking around with ideas in my head, but I would not be able to have them come to fruition.  I am so lucky to have Lyssa in my life, for many reasons other than her crafty skills.

One of the Hardest Parts of Decorating My Room

Putting this backboard on the back wall was a pain in the butt.  First, I had to tack each of the corners up.  Then,  I had to adjust the projector to fit the paper.  Finally, this was the hardest part, I had to trace over the lines.  It is so hard to trace over lines and keep them straight when you are tracing freehand.  My kids love this little area.  This is where I am going to put up all of their hard work.

Good Thing His Room Does Not Make Him Look Gay!!!

This may be the best comment I have received about my room thus far.  One of the other 4th Grade teachers, Bethany Hancock, had her roommate look at my room and that is what her comment was.  Apparently, when male teachers decorate their rooms they make them look gay.  Here is a picture of my room at an angle.  Those innocent little water bottles are going to be the death of me.
